Parent Note Absences
o Each year students get 10 parent note days of absence. This means your parents can write you a note for any reason and it will be considered excused.
o The parent note must be given to the attendance officer the day the student gets back from their absence.
o A parent phone call or e-mail to the attendance officer will also be acceptable. You must provide this note within two days or you will be counted as a Truant Skip.
10-Day procedure:
10th day—Letter from MASH informing parents; Call Home; Meeting requested
Following the parent meeting/Letter sent home:
-1st “T-10” day—MPD Warning; Call Home
-2nd -4th “T-10” day—MPD citation
-5th “T-10” day—Habitual Truancy
